Holy Heck...Now What?!?!?!

This will be short as I had to drive to my house to post today...actually Mom and I met up with Rick to have lunch so we were in the neighborhood. I'm still housesitting (until late tomorrow evening) but something tragic happened yesterday at Lynn's house...her internet connection died! The "home portal" (I'm still not sure if it's a modem or a router) seems to have met an untimely death and so I'm stuck without Internet access. I tried to see if it might be a loose wire (nope, not that) or maybe the "Off" switch got pushed by mistake (I can't find any On/Off switch) so I'm at a loss as to what the problem is. I unplugged the thing and took it and its cable/transformer to another outlet but still no power so I'm thinking it's really dead. Anyway, this means that I will be Internet-less until the weekend so I won't be able to post or comment until then. All I can say is that I feel claustrophobic...as if I'm stuck in my own little world without a way to communicate...and I just hate this feeling.

OMG!!!! What to do?!!!? Seriously... I know how that feels. I NEED my internet... yep, I am addicted and I feel cut off from the world if I cannot blog or at least connect with others on the internet. Blogging is like the soaps... you just got to have them... but soon you will be back... we'll just all stop blogging until you return... umm.. maybe.. well, perhaps slow down a little... yeh... or not... :)

Oh NO! That's terrible. Hope your sister gets back soon.

My internet keeps conking out too...I did a chat with qwest (my ISP) and he couldn't figure out what's going on, so he's sending someone out on SATURDAY (why not today?) to take a look outside. Hopefully that's where the problem is, 'cuz if it's inside I have to pay for them to come inside (what kinda crock is that?) I really think the problem is with the cheap modem they sent me...and I want them to give me another one...FREE lol! I'm certainly not paying another 75 bucks for a one year modem.

I think I'd be completely lost without the internet each day. It's my link to the outside world.

Though I don't care for the man, I must say thanks to Al Gore!

I can't imagine life without internet at this point and if I'm bad, I can only imagine what kind of melt-down my daughter would have! I am sure it wouldn't be at all pretty - not at all!

Hopefully her internet can be resuscitated and is only in state of unconsciousness right now rather than actual death!

We are all addicts of the internet. We need it to connect to our friends and our world.
Hope the problem gets fixed soon. Will miss the news from your side of the continent.

I so do not want to be reading this right now. I so do not want to return home tomorrow and find that I have no internet access. I so want this to all be a sick, sick joke.

Joan: sounds like you did all you could to fix it. What a mess for sis.

Lynn: sorry to read this! I wasn't using the computer last night (I'll explain in my next installment) and was confused when I got up this morning and read your comment on my blog.
We are all addicted to the Internet!
