Cupid Comes Early

Firstly, I've been in another one of my blogging funks lately which explains why I haven't been posting very often or commenting on any of your wonderful blogs. My brain seems to have come to a grinding halt and I just haven't felt very creative lately. I've tried to sit down and compose something worth reading but when I compare my output with all of your wonderfully creative posts and comments, I feel inadequate. Anyway, I apologize for the lack of participation and will try to be better...truly!

So, last night (how's that for a non-existent segue) Rick and I took our friend JAM out for our weekly dinner at one of our favorite small local restaurants. We were brought our usual before-dinner bread basket and plate with a wonderful herb, oil and basalmic vinegar dipping sauce. So we were busy dipping and talking and then suddenly we looked down and here's what we saw:

Yep...right there in the middle of the plate was a perfectly formed heart. We all ooohed and aaahed at the sight and, of course, I had to whip out my camera phone to take this photo. That brought over the waiter who also was amazed. Anyway, with Valentine's Day so close, it just seemed like a perfect way to start the love fest.

Then today I came home from having my car serviced and found a beautiful bouquet of flowers from my one and only Rick. I immediately placed them in my favorite pitcher/vase and, of course, whipped out my camera phone to take this photo.

I'm such a lucky girl. Rick and I usually don't do anything special on Valentine's Day (we leave it for other couples who want to dine out and celebrate) but I sure am enjoying the buildup to that special day. And, as far as I'm concerned, Cupid can visit us any time he wants!!!

That heart shape you found in the dipping sauce is absolutely amazing.
Perfect for this time of year!

I hope you are feeling better, and please don't compare yourself to other bloggers! This isn't a competition.

I guess one could say that you "loved" the dipping sauce! What a cool thing and even better that you had your camera phone to capture the moment.

Cupid has no reason to stop at my house so I'm going to suggest he stop by yours in lieu of though it looks to me like you and Rick have the "I love you's" down perfectly already. Those flowers are gorgeous!

And finally, I echo what Patti said - this is not a competition and don't ever feel that you aren't witty enough or clever enough or anything enough. As Mark Darcy said to Bridget Jones, we "love you just the way you are"!

Well like everyone said, it's not a competition. We don't care what you say. We just love to hear you say it.

That's so cool about your sauce. We're not so big on V-day either. But then we have DH's birthday on the 12th and the anniversary of when we got engaged on the 16th, we just wait or celebrate early. But we don't do much, just dinner and some cards.

Your flowers are so pretty. You'll see me passed out cold if I get flowers from DH this year...I usually go buy myself some after the 14th when they all go on sale.

I love getting flowers for no reason except being loved. You are a lucky lady.

Aww.. Joan, those flowers are beautiful. Rick is pretty romantic when he wants to me, eh?

Oh and you're getting pretty handy with that camera phone of yours... how many times have you "whipped out" that camera phone in this post!? It takes awesome photos. :)

That little heart is amazing. It's like when people see the Virgin Mary in a potato chip.
