Yikes! I’ve signed up for National Blog Posting Month. Can you see the new NaBloPoMo badge on my sidebar? This means that I need to post every single day in November. What? Am I out of my mind???
This lunacy started when I saw that Sari had this badge on the sidebar of her blog. Curious as to what NaBloPoMo could possibly mean, I went over to the NaBloPoMo website and started to investigate the whole concept. Then I mentioned it to Lynn who decided she might be interested in doing this too. For almost the entire month of October, the two of us kept saying “I’ll do it if you’ll do it.” Back and forth we went. Finally yesterday, Lynn decided to take the bull by the horns and signed up while I was at her house. Not to be outdone, I came home and signed up as well.
So…what does this mean? This means I'll be perusing the daily newspaper, reading magazines, watching TV news, listening to the conversations of others, taking photos of the world around me…all to make sure I have enough fodder for a month’s worth of posts. Then I’ll be visiting Mom to go through all our family photos to find ones I might want to post when I’m at a loss for something to write about. Finally, I’ll be begging my family and friends to send me e-mail jokes to post when I’ve used up everything else. Let’s see…have I forgotten anything?
So much work just to make sure I don’t fail at this crazy self-imposed “assignment.” Am I insane or what???

You can do it!! I'll be checking daily to see what topic you've picked for the day.
One post down, only 29 more to go :~D
You can do it, my friend. I post almost everyday. There is always something going on. If you wish, you could take on some of the weekly happenings right here in blogland. Thankful Thursdays, Wordless Wednesdays, Green Thumb Sundays and more. There are so many different things to post. At times you may read someone's blog and be inspired.
I look forward to reading your daily posts throughout November. Thanks for your comments on my Thankful Thursday post.
Blessings,
Mary
yes, cousins, you are both nuts. Let me know if I can provide any family information which you will probably need by the end of November as fill.
Oh my, the men with the white jackets should be rapping at your door any second Joan. They have a nice padded room with your name on it. hehehe... but seriously... that's cool! I do it all the time, every single month, day after day and I look at it as a fun hobby to do! Enjoy!
Yes, enjoy the challenge of your self-imposed assignment.
there are plenty of sites with jokes and comics to keep you in business. Just cheat like I do.
Most people wait until day five before they question their sanity, so consider yourself an advanced learner. Don't forget to chant, I think I can, I think I can...
How are the glasses working out?
Wow - have fun! I toyed with the idea too but we are traveling this month and our lives are upside down right now... both would probably make for good blog fodder but...oh well.
I look forward to your daily posts.
Joan, being the librarian, you undoubtedly have read lots of great prose. And if someone reads lots, you can write well, which you do. We're aware of your writing capabilities, are you? Continue to write, you can do it...
Ah, there ain't nothin' to it! All you do is decide to sit down and throw some senseless babble at the screen and you're done!
The trick for me is going to be posting on Mondays when I work my 16-hour shifts and can't touch a blog with a ten-foot pole at work! That might require a bit of creativity on my part but I guess we shall see.
Good luck!!
Well at least this month has only 30 days. And a trick you could do... on days when you have an extra amount of fodder...you can put them in your draft file and then post them later.
Good luck!!! It's not that bad, you can do it!
:-)
there are no length requirements, are there? take renee's advice.. stop in mid-sentence if necessary and save for the next day!!!
