My Closet Is Not a Barometer

On Saturday, I had this sudden desire to clean out my closet. Yes, I know it was my birthday but maybe it was all about facing a new age with a clean slate. I started trying on clothes and filled two large bags with things to take to the thrift shop. I was a little surprised that, after all that work, I had so little to dispose of but I guess two bags with shirts, pants, sweaters and dresses are better than nothing. The other thing I did was organize all my clothes. Since it was cold and rainy all last week, I placed my long-sleeved shirts and pants towards the center in easy reach and relegated all my summer wear to the back. Wrong move! The rain is gone, the cool temperatures are a thing of the past and today it's supposed to be in the 80's with the sun shining brightly. Sigh...

This week is actually filled with activity so there won't be much time to tackle the next closet project...the growing stacks of shoe boxes. Yesterday I took Mom to the YMCA; today I have to shop for an outfit to go with the hat I bought for Saturday's bridal shower tea party since the weather has suddenly warmed and my planned outfit is too wintry; tomorrow and Thursday I work. This is the kind of week I look forward to...there's no groping for things to do to occupy my time. Sadly, my little part-time job with the Library is coming to an end and I will need to focus on finding something else to do to fill up the hours...there's only so much shopping I can do. Suggestions???

I love gardening. DH, DD & I can spend hours out in the nice warm garden taking care of our plants...and I love to eat the veggies. (they'll only eat the fruit...oh well)
And the flowers are a lot of fun too.

If you'd like, I'll send you a puzzle. (Not the one with a piece missing!) That should keep you busy for a while!

Have you thought about taking a class or two. There are so many interesting things to learn. I have taken several art classes and really enjoyed them. Or you could join your mom and take some water aerobic classes. I love mine. I volunteer some with hospice. Helping other people always makes me feel better. I read a lot and enjoy puzzles too. Too mush to do to ever be bored.

I am sure that you will find that your time just flies by without finding something to occupy it, but there are SO many things to do. You'll figure out something.

Way to go on the closet cleanup or would that qualify for a closet cleanOUT?

You could tackle the 100+ posts that I have sitting in my Google Reader because I've been horrible about reading other blogs this week! Though golfing really does sound a lot better!

When you figure it out, let me know as I am in the same boat! Leaning toward a class or two, but contemplating a part-time job too...
