Almost There

Less than 48 hours from now, we will be jetting across the Atlantic towards Ireland. I can hardly believe it’s almost here.

I’ve spent the past 3 days gathering items, folding clothes, buying last minute things (e.g. eyeglasses repair kit), photocopying our travel documents, and checking things off my packing list as they’ve gone into our suitcases and carry-on totes. Except for a few hanging clothes (which will go into the suitcases at the last minute), I think I’ve got everything under control and ready to go. And I’m feeling a heck of a lot better than I did Sunday morning when I started this arduous task.

The end is almost in sight.

I scheduled the dog at the kennel and got her an appointment at the VET then I placed a reservation for the place we park our car. We have the tickets & the hotels...& the car rental too.

All that's left is the packing and going. Oh and the waiting...that's the worst.

oh i hope y'all have a great trip! i don't think i could do a land tour anymore, it is so strenuous. but sooooo much fun! now we pretty much cruise cause it is so much easier to do. but i certainly like both! we'll be thinking about you! there are lots of hotels with internet in the lobby plus internet cafes, maybe you could let us know you are okay??

Renee: I'm excited for you and, most importantly, for Darly. I know she'll have a wonderful time as a flower girl!

Empress bee: My hope is to hit an internet cafe or public library...keep your fingers crossed.

Linda: Looking forward to this trip was definitely what got me through the hell of packing.

Iamthebookworm: I have three 1G memory cards which translates to something like 2100 photos...lord help me.

Patches: You'll be sorry you asked for photos...I love to click away.

Meno: I keep telling myself that, if I've forgotten something, I can always buy it there...Ireland has it all!

Susie: I'll try to find Internet access while I'm there. The thought of being away from BlogLand for 11 days is maddening.

Lynn: Safe and sound is definitely what I'm aiming for!!!

I can feel your excitement, and the relief you feel when you know that most of the organising is finished and now you can relax and enjoy. And do just that: enjoy!

Re all the photos: you do use Picasa, don't you? It will organise everything for you, and it's free to download online. Just a suggestion.

I once asked a travel expert what her favorite places in the world were. She answered right away that Ireland was one of her top three!

Val: I've just started using Flickr but thanks for the info on Picasa.

Lynne: Thanks and I'm sure there will be lots and lots of photos!

Michele: I've packed my journal to record all my experiences.

The moose buyer: I'm actually not fretting about the trip...only the flying part!

Patti: Oooooo...Irish coffee at an Internet cafe...the perfect image.

Rhea: Wow...I guess our choice of Ireland as a destination was a good one.
