"Cool" Art

I was sitting at the kitchen table this morning drinking my coffee and reading the newspaper when I looked up at our refrigerator. At least, I think it's a refrigerator and I think it's white in color. It's hard to tell when all you see are notes and receipts and business cards and all sorts of odd shaped papers attached by magnets to the three visible sides...not to mention the erasable monthly calendar obsuring most of the freezer door.

I can't remember the last time either of us culled through all this refrigerator "art" to see what was outdated and needed removal. I guess I'll add that little chore to my long "To Do" list. And where do you think I keep that list? You've got it...on the refrigerator!

that's a bone of contention around our house...

see DH grew up in a magnet free frig house and I grew up in a very cluttered put everything on the frig kind of home.

so of course our frig has everything on it...cuz it's MINE! and Dh grumbles about it all the time. LOL!

but I should go update it. ;D

I finally cleaned my off, mostly. I still have a monthly calendar and a couple of magnets with pandas and a baby zebra named Evidence from Noah's Ark, just south of Atlanta.

I have to clean off my refrigerator every so often too. The grands make pictures for me to put on there and I hate taking them off as I'm afraid they will wonder why, but I do save them.
Been catching up on your posts, read down through all of them. We do the married date thing too. This week we are going to the coast to our favorite restaurant for lobster stew. I can't wait! We can't do this every week as Hubby can't be out of the office too much but we go as often as we can. He jokes about how can he retire when his father is still in the office every day and he is 92! lol!

I'm the same...all sorts of parts of my life stuck to a fridge....magnets, notes, receipts, several calendars, cards, Jackson in my line of sight...just stuff. But it must be important or I wouldn't have stuck it there!

Since we got our new fridge I try to keep the clutter to a minimum. But I am thinking I need to update some of the stuff on there as well.

Remember: "A cluttered fridge makes a house a home."

Or something like that!

I think a refrigerator is a great "message central" for the kitchen. I try not to put too much on it, but I do have a list, menus and also use it to clip my recipes when I'm cooking.

Joan,

My refrigerator still has magnets on it that I put there when Brandon was little. He turned 13 in May. Maybe mine needs a little revising too. Yes, I've cleaned them several hundred times since then but maybe a new look would be nice.

It's been a while since I've visited you. I'm glad to be back.

Blessings,
Mary

And you don't have little kids...far more stuff than you could possibly imagine.

Photos and school stuff. patti noted that the clutter was bad until we bought our current black refrigerator in 2005.

And we even have stuff for our college age kids on there as well...just like grade 1.

There are things on my refrigerator that were stuck there 8 years ago when I first moved in here that I am sure could find a better home but I just never think about it. Duh! Perhaps I need to add that task to my "To Do" list, too!
