Not In My Own Bed

I only have time for a quick post before taking my sister's dog Amber out for a walk. Yep...here I am again at Lynn's house while she and the family are off on an exciting Northern California adventure. They left yesterday and will be back probably late Friday evening so I'm here for the duration. I've planned a fun filled week for Mom and me so I'm not too sure how much time I'll have to post and comment but I will try my best.

Although I said I wouldn't give you daily updates on my diet, I do want to report that so far (all two days of it) I've been really, really good. Saturday evening, Rick and I went out for Mexican food and I left the basket of tortilla chips and salsa completely untouched. Then last night, I took Mom out for dinner and managed not to munch on the heavenly aromatic dinner rolls and spice bread. The big challenge so far has been not eating between meals but I've managed to refrain from nibbling so I guess I should be happy. I haven't gotten on the scale yet but I'm hoping all this willpower will be rewarded...willpower and a little exercise thanks to Amber and her need to walk.

Since you are on this diet kick and want to know where we are going to dinner Wed, I thought maybe we could cruise the local supermarket and munch our way through the veggie section. JUST KIDDING!!!

Whenever I'm trying to watch what I eat and get the nibbles in between meals, I make sure I always have a bag of baby carrots on hand. Eating 4 or 5 of those helps stop the craving:-) Have fun with your mom!! Thank you so much for your kind words of sympathy on the death of my SIL. You don't know how much it means to me to know you're all here for me!! xox

Sounds like you're off to a great start! The weather here in No. CA is beautiful right now, so hope your sister has a great getaway :)

I'm sure Amber will enjoy an extra brisk walk or two with you this week!
Have fun.

How you didn't touch chips and salsa is beyond me.

You are going to take Amber in the car-car, aren't you? Congrats, I couldn't ignore warm bread at a restaurant...

Chips and salsa? Bread?

My downfalls.

I'm proud of you too. I still need to kick the soda habbit...but all these folks making me crazy are keeping me from it. *sigh*

Ah, I didn't realize that when your sister went out of town again that you were once more on doggy duty. I'm sure that Amber appreciates you very much. Oh and your sister too. ;)

You are doing great. I never last two days, although three years ago I lost 26 pounds but I've gained it all back. Maybe I can get some inspiration from you so keep us posted! Good luck!!

Michele: Thanks. I promise another update when I get on the scale.

The moose buyer: Remember...I can eat anything...just less of it and only at mealtime.

Empress bee: Fun and diet are oxymoronic...trust me.

Pea: I will probably get carrots and some fruit just in case I get the munchies...better than cookies and chips!

Susie: Sis says the weather is beautiful in San Francisco...I'm so jealous.

Patti: Amber and I have been having great fun on our walks!

Ralph: Great memory...and, yes indeed, Amber and I have already gone car-car once!

Sari: There are no words to explain how tough it's been without chips and bread.

Renee: I have to admit I did have a Diet soda yesterday but I shared a can with my mom.

Rosemary: I have all the time in the world for this.

Midlife mom: that's the bummer of dieting at our age...we seem to gain it back far too easily.

Glad to hear that you are doing well, and that Amber is contributing to your exercise regiment. We are doing alot of walking here...and alot of eating too...sigh.

Lynn: Why the heck were you commenting so late at night while you're on vacation?!?!? Get thee to bed at a reasonable hour tonight...you have a long day ahead of you tomorrow!
