Farewell May, Hello June

It's been a busy weekend and first part of the week and, believe me, I'm not complaining. I like it when my life is filled with activity and variety and I've been trying hard to fill my days with things to do.

Last Friday, my library friend Sherry hosted a wonderful tea party at her home. Guests included current and former employees of the library where we used to work (Sherry retired in March) and it was terrific seeing everyone again. Sherry did a remarkable job setting a beautiful table and serving perfectly steeped tea and wonderful little sandwiches, fruit, chocolate dipped strawberries, tea cakes and a scrumptous trifle. Yum.

Rick and I spent Saturday evening driving the 35 miles north to visit my cousin Ina, The Moose Buyer. We had dinner at a lovely Italian restaurant and spent the evening chatting about family, retirement and future plans.

Sunday was golf lesson day and, after our lessons, we spent a little time at the driving range practicing. While stepping out of the golf cart, I heard an unusual and terrifying sound eminate from my right calf and then the pain started. Ouch! The rest of Sunday and then all of Monday I spent trying to nurse my leg back to health.

Yesterday, Rick and I decided to go out on an afternoon date so we went to the movies to see the new "Indiana Jones" movie. We got to see it on a gi-normous former IMAX screen which made the action even more intense and dramatic. That, of course, made Rick a very happy boy!

Today Sherry and I spent the day together at our local zoo. It was a nice walk amongst the animals and it gave me a chance to try and stretch out my still-hurting calf muscle. Here are a few photos from our excursion:

Tomorrow it's off to the stores with my friend Judy to look for a dress for a wedding Rick and I are attending in three weeks. Wish me luck!

ouch! I hope your leg is okay. I hate when I hurt myself.

Your zoo pictures are very nice...although that tiger has me wondering.

My mister pulled a muscle lifting his suitcase. I've been supplying him with ice.

Cool zoo pictures. Is the tiger doing what I think he's doing?

Sorry about your leg. Ouchy. I hope Moosie is doing OK.

I also need a dress - for a wedding on June 27. It's a 4 p.m. Friday one so I have to take a vacation day. :-(

doesn't anyone get married on Saturday anymore?
Good luck shopping.

Ouch in regards to your leg! Hope it wasn't anything too serious and that it doesn't come back to haunt you!

So, how was "Indiana Jones and the Curse of Old Age"? Oh wait, that's not the name of it, is it?!? I've heard mixed reviews about the movie but haven't had any great desire to see it myself.

The tea party sounds absolutely lovely and elegant - what a great idea! How civilized!
