The Little List Maker

Okay…Hubby and I just made the final and, might I say, scarily large payment for our June trip to Ireland. I guess this means we’re really going and the countdown ticker at the top of my blog stays put until the big day! Oh boy, oh boy…now the fun begins. The first order of business is to find my Alaska packing list file from last year so I can begin to modify it. I’m a big “list maker” which helps me remain calm as departure day gets closer...I guess, in my own way, I’m a little OCD when it comes to traveling. I keep checking things off my list as they get put into the great big “trip” pile on my dining room table. In theory, this means I won’t forget anything when it’s time to shovel it all into our suitcases just before the big day. Now…what does one wear in Ireland in June? Hmmm.

Yeah, gloat, gloat, gloat. *smile*

Hope you and hubby enjoy your trip. How long will you be touring. Make sure to acquaint yourself with the security screening procedures. I know the UK really cracked down on carry-on luggage last year. Leaving the US isn't usually a problem, but Ireland might have different limitations in place. I only mention because I lot have change have happened in the last two years....but I bet that's on your list too.

I'm a list maker too. I even make a grid chart to make sure I pack enough underwear. It's so silly, but I give one to DD too. So far we've never been short on anything...but DH hasn't either and he doesn't use my list. hummmm

Carmen from Gone to Plaid on my blogroll has been to Ireland. She might have some tips for you.

I am also a list person. I hate the thought of forgetting something that i REALLY REALLY need. Because i could certainly never get one wherever i was. A-hem.

I love your little countdown ticker.

Being the great researcher that you are, I have every confidence that before you leave on your trip you will have found out what people wear in Ireland in June, and you will have listed all the things you still need to purchase. Can I carry your suitcase?

That will be a wonderful trip. Be sure to take lots of pictures to post when you get back. I'm a list maker too and get a real high over crossing things off as I get them done. Guess I am a little OCD too about lists!

Patches: We will definitely read all the travel warnings and restrictions...I don't want to end up having to re-pack everything while I'm standing at the airline ticket counter!

Renee: Thanks for the tip about Carmen. I will definitely take a look at her site.

Meno: Yes, I know...it's not like we're going to some remote place...Ireland does actually have stores to shop in. ;~)

Lynn: How much do you charge for being a porter?

Midlife mom: The only big thing new I'm planning to buy for the trip is a second digital camera so Hubby will have one too!
