Because It's Monday

It's been a lazy few days thanks to the scorching heat here in Southern California. It's been at or near 100 degrees for several days now and the forecast for the next few days doesn't look any better. With the general malaise that comes with this kind of weather, I haven't done a heck of a lot of things to post about.

Let's see..we went to the YMCA yesterday; we went out for Sunday brunch; we sat around the house and did very little yesterday afternoon; and then went out for dinner with friends. Whew...there's not much there that holds any interest for a post.

Today I spent most of the day sitting in front of my computer racking my brain for something to write about. I realize I haven't posted since Saturday and I feel an obligation and compulsion to post at least every second day when I'm home. What to write about...what to write about?

I ran some errands and, when I came home, Rick was already home from playing golf. There in the front hallway was this beautiful bouquet of flowers.

I might have mentioned before that Rick likes to surprise me with flowers when I least expect it. And the reason for today's flowers? Why it's Monday, of course!

Thankfully it hasn't been that hot here. I sort of wilt when it gets that warm. Lovely Monday gesture from your hubby :)

Love the vase/pitcher too! Very autumnal - wishful thinking, weatherwise??

awwwwe! that's so sweet. My dh tried to give me that bull that if he gets me flowers all the time it would make them not be special...so now he doesn't hardly ever get them at all. *eyeroll!*

That was so sweet! Dom has only bought me flowers, actually a plant, once in 37+ years.

The best reason ever for flowers, Monday!

Those are lovely flowers. Rick is so thoughtful, but then we already knew that.

Susie: Can I come live with you...at least during the summers??? :~)

Val: I find it kinda scary that the stores are already showing fall clothing and using fall colors here.

Renee: I never get flowers on special occasions (Valentines Day, birthdays, etc)...hubby tells me he doesnt want to be too predictable.

Lynne: Would you like Rick to speak to Dom? :~)

Meno: Yep...Monday...flower day extraordinaire.

Lynn: Yep, I'm a pretty lucky woman!

That was a nice Monday surprise!

I have times when the ole blogging juices are kind of dry too. Then there are times I'm sure everyone is yawning as I have gone on for so long. Guess that's all part of the blogging experience.

Did I see the word FALL in one of the comments?! It is coming fast isn't it? The fall clothes are out before I even get my summer ones bought!

I was going to say that I could always tag you for a meme and then you'd have something to write about! That Meme of Seven I did today was a bit of a doozie! However, the flowers are much nicer and your husband is a sweetie! You are a very lucky woman.

Beautiful flowers! That was sweet of him. I have been absent on my blog too.

It was fun to catch up on your blog, Joan. I've been AWOL for so long my keyboard is beginning to rust.

Nice flowers -- My husband does that sort of thing also. Lucky us!

Flowers for Monday. I think that would be perfect for me... I have a "case of the Mondays" almost every week!
