Can You Hear Me Now?

I had every intention of posting yesterday evening but I found myself too busy playing with my new cell phone. Yep, Rick and I finally bit the bullet and bought ourselves two new phones. Even as I was standing in the store telling the sales person which model of phone I had decided on for the two of us, Rick was calling out to me to look at all the new sophisticated, slimline ones. For some reason, he thinks of me as a technogeek who needs the newest, coolest electronics available…how wrong he is! Plus…I was insistent that we buy the same model since I know I will have to show him how to use the phone for just about everything. You’ll be proud to know that I stood my ground and we ended up buying the more traditionally shaped, less techno-ladened phone that my sister Lynn and my brother-in-law bought just a short while ago.

Now our new phones still do all sorts of things…play music, play video, provide email and Internet access, all for an additional fee of course. I have no intention of using any of these features, believe me. The one feature I will use, however, is the camera. It’s really the reason we actually got new phones and I have many of your blogs to thank for this purchase. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying all the photos that I see on your blogs and I realize that you probably don’t wander the streets of your city with an actual camera hanging around your neck or on your arm. Am I right in assuming many of you use your camera phone to shoot photos that you eventually post? I sure hope I’m right because now I have to spend all this time learning all the new buttons and features and gizmos on this new phone and the instruction booklet which comes with it is useless...trust me.

Oh…and one more thing. The phone only comes with a small assortment of ringtones and they are truly boring and uninspired. For a nominal fee (surprise), I can download a few fancy ringtones available from my wireless carrier. My problem? I’ve been to their website and the number of available ringtones is astronomical and I’m having a heck of a time trying to decide which ones I want. Do I want classical, instrumental, rock n roll, jazz, oldies? Do I want rousing songs or smooth soft melodies? Help! Tell me…what ringtones do you have on your cell phone???

ha ha ha, good post! my cell phone rings just like a regular phone, you know, ring, ring, ring... and i only used the camera once, it works good but i never think of it, plus i wouldn't know how to get the photo from the phone to the blog anyhow. i do carry around my camera, am never without it if we go anywhere. that's why i was sooooo picky about the camera. it is tiny, fits in my pocket or takes no room in my purse, takes great shots, recharges quickly, and goes right into the laptop with one plug that came with it! now if you learn all this phone stuff, you teach me too, okay?

smiles, bee

I have an old-fashioned cell phone with no gizmos. My ring is the theme from "Mission: Impossible."

We have a new Canon camera that I have to start playing with more. I only posted that one photo of a tiger lily so far.

My cell phone doesn't take pictures (I'm still in the dark ages there!)
I have not paid for a ring tone for it, but do have different rings for different people..
I carry my camera with me most of the time..

I have one of the "stock" ring tones that came with my camera...it's a SAMBA. But I figured with everyone else out there with different tones mine would stand out to me. If my provider offered it I would get a Christian song for my ring tone, but they don't have any...I would really like "He is Exhalted" or "Awesome God" but alas it is not meant to be. LOL!

I have an old dark ages phone with no camera. So I have lug my very big camera around with us...I keep looking for a smaller camera but they cost so much. And I'm so cheap.

My cell phones plays,"When the Saints Go Marchin' In." I've told everyone that I want to have a brass band play that at my funeral. Every one knows it's my phone when it rings.
I don't have a camera. I have a husband who love to take pictures. All the pictures I use were taken by him.

I just have the standard cell phone ringtones. I'm too cheap to pay to download something different! My phone doesn't have a camera. If I want to take pictures, I take my camera along.

I'm looking for a new camera right now. Shelby has a Kodak that's really tiny and when you take a picture, the lens doesn't have to pop out. I'm looking at getting one of those.

My cell phone ringtone is a regular phone ring as I noticed when I'm in stores shopping and their music blends in with my music ringtones and sometimes I actually miss the phone call!
I do have a camera on mine and I'm glad I do... there are times when I cannot carry my camera with me to get that perfect shot and u really wish u could've had that camera with u!

Kid1 has downloaded many ringtones, my favorite of these 'Rock This Town" by Brian Setzer. As I reliquinshed my company phone, Using the 'chair, I especially need a phone. When the kids are back from camp, we will buy phones for all...

I have 'What a Wonderful World' and 'Feels so Good', however, my phone is always on vibrate and I never get to hear the ring tones. sigh.

Empress bee: I'd love to know what camera you have...I'm not happy with mine and want to buy a new one!

Patti: This comment will self destruct in 5 seconds.

Susie: I need to program the different rings for different people.

Renee: Rick is using the stock "When the Saints Go Marching In" and I'm using the samba right now.

Mom: That will be some funeral!!! And tell your hubby he takes nice photos.

Lynne: Thanks for the Kodak recommendation...I'll definitely look into it!

Michele: Now that I have a different musical ringtone, I cant seem to recognize it when someone is calling me. Maybe I need a telephone ring instead.

Ralph: Oh...I like "Rock This Town!" I'll put that on my list of possibilities.

Lynn: My phone sits in my purse all day long so vibrate wont work for me. Help me choose a really cool distinctive ringtone.

My cell phone doesn't take pictures...yup, I'm one of those people who walks around my neighbourhood and in restaurants with a camera! lol It's amazing what cell phones can do these days though! As for what ringtone I have, it's Johnny Cash's "I Walk The Line"...hehe! Makes you want to dance everytime it rings! lol xox

I guess I am an old fuddy duddy cause my phone just rings one ring. I guess there are more on there somewhere but I don't have a clue how to find them! My son has a Blackberry and that thing does everything, I would never figure that thing out!

Goodness! What does a techno-laden phone have if your "simpler" one already plays music and video, and has internet access??? But I'm really the one in the dark ages, as I don't have a mobile phone. Somehow, I can still manage!

I would imagine that most photos uploaded to blogs are from digital cameras, the ones from the phones are not as clear. But they're probably improving the technology all the time.

Pea: That's what I'm looking for...a ringtone I can dance to.

Rosemary: I admit it...I'm addicted to that Pussycat Dolls song but my hubby would kill me if he heard it over and over as my ringtone.

Midlife mom: I'm trying to stay up with the times but I keep falling farther and farther behind.

Val: To be honest, we originally bought the phones for emergencies only but somehow I got sucked into using mine for other purposes. It's amazing what classifies as an "emergency" these days...like calling to place an order for takeout so it will be ready when I get there. :~)

My cell phone plays music, takes pictures and makes phone calls too! I downloaded the Pirates of the Caribbean theme and a Linkin Park song as ring tones.
