I Do, I Do...

Today is our anniversary...or should I say "our anniversaries." My husband and I met in a running shoe store 24 years ago today...he was selling shoes as a volunteer in his friend's store and I went in with my sister to buy my first pair of real running shoes. And what do you know...I got a new pair of a shoes AND a date with a really nice guy. To make a long story short, Hubby and I "dated" for many years and we always celebrated the day we met as our "anniversary." Fast forward several years. When Hubby and I finally decided to get married, we decided that we'd been celebrating March 13th as our anniversary for so long that we needed to get married on that very same day so we wouldn't need to remember a new anniversary date. And that's exactly what we did...we packed our suitcases and went to Las Vegas to tie the knot on March 13th. So today we celebrate two very important dates in our relationship and, thanks to perfect timing, they both just happen to fall on March 13th.

Can't remember what possessed you to want to go into that particular store at that time on that particular day (it must have been devine intervention)...but it was so fun watching you and your hubby flirt...ah the memories. Even though I already wished it to you...I'll do it again...Happy Anniversary!

Congratulations Joan! I just love hearing about anniversaries. I wish you and hubby the same happiness and longevity that my grandparents celebrated (sixty-years worth).

Happy Anniversary! DH & I still celebrate the day we met too...only we didn't get married on that day. So we celebrate twice. yeah, I actually have a DH who will allow me to celebrate twice...he probably thinks that he's getting off easy since that first year I celebrated every month. LOL!

Best wishes for many more happy years together.

re: DVDs from the library...thanks to my suggestion to friends who volunteer at our library the DVDs at our library get cleaned when they are checked in. The one I checked out the other day was from a different library in our system. We haven't had any problems with scratches...just being all slimed up. Any ideas what folks are actually doing to them?

Happy Anniversary! And many more. I love "How we Met" stories.

And considering your extreme youth, you must have met when you were 8. :)

Susie: Thanks for the anniversary wishes. We're planning on a long life together although there are some days it already seems really long.

Lynn: Do you remember what I said that day as we walked out of the store..."he'll do until something better comes along." Well obviously I never found anyone better than Hubby and how lucky am I!?!

Patches: Wow...what a wonderful thing to have your grandparents married for 60 years! That's so touching to hear.

Renee: What a great husband you have celebrating both events each year...I'm not sure my hubby could remember more than one date.

Meno: Right...that's it...I got married at the age of 8. I define the term "child bride." ;-)

Pam: Thanks! I like to think our "how-we-met" story is pretty unique.
