The Aftermath

Whew...it's over. Nothing's put away, of course, but Christmas is really over. We had a lovely time at Rick's sister's house on Tuesday and, as always, we experienced Christmas chaos...wrapping paper, gift bags, bows, ribbon flying everywhere, thank-you's shouted out, camera flashes popping. We got home, after dropping my mom off at my sister's, and then promptly fell into bed exhausted. Rick was actually feeling kinda punky and is now recovering from his version of our family flu...thank goodness it's not the "stomach" variety.

Then yesterday I went over to Lynn's at 6:30AM so we could make it to the mall by 7AM. Last year, we did amazingly well with lots and lots of goodies at incredible savings. This year we were not so lucky. I'm not sure if the sales were so good before Christmas that all the best clothing was sold out but we found very little and the items we did like were not listed at an incredible discount like last year. I did manage to buy (using store coupons, of course) 3 long-sleeved T-shirts, a black sweater top and a small purse while Lynn found a few items as well. I guess I should be happy. At least my already over-flowing closet won't be burdened with more "stuff" I really don't need.

We didn't find a heckuva lot either this year that tickled our fancy into buying. Probably a good thing with such limited space in the apartment as well as the wallet feeling a little depleted but either way, I'm really happy about this holiday season being over, I really do want things to get back to a pattern of some sort, whatever that may be...

I went to the mall this morning with a couple of exchanges and looked around but didn't see anything that caught my eye. The only things 75% off were Christmas ornaments and I sure don't need any more of those. I need to start putting things away but I'm checking in with everyone first as I haven't had much computer time over Christmas. Glad you found a few bargains!

DD wanted to go shopping yesterday, but I refused to go. I think I've ventured out once on the 26th and like you I wasn't able to find anything that I really wanted.
My SIL always hits up one store for great deals on Christmas Ornaments so she insists that we exchange those for our family exchange...works for me! She gave me a really cute bunny this year. hee hee
I will have to wait until this snow stops flying (yeah, we're getting more of this stuff today!) before I venture out. I just looked out my window and saw my neighbor shoveling my walk for me...very sweet! DH did her walk the other day, but I still feel as if I should run her out some hot chocolate. LOL!

As for the leftovers, my brother came over yesterday and I sent a bunch home with him...he was thankful since they had just finished off theirs and I had the stuff he really likes! LOL

As soon as it stops snowing you and Lynn should make a trip out here.

I went to the mall with Kid1 last Friday, and the pricing was good in every store we went to. And on nice things. Of course we took advantage of the pre-Christmas low prices!

I really haven't done much in the way of shopping at all this year. One trip to the mall with my Mom a couple Fridays ago and then another trip to Kohl's with my Mom and Jamie on the Friday before Christmas. There were some pretty good deals then and my Mom got herself a Dyson vacuum at a really good price. It was her gift to her! I'm afraid I didn't contribute very much to the economy this year.

I did the 6am thing once...never again. No really good prices and I was amazed at the way the women acted....like this was the last shirt, skirt, pair of pants in the world. You are a brave lady!

I really hate shopping and I don't need anything. I have got to start downsizing. I didn't even buy a Moose (you know Christmoose there are stuffed mooses everywhere at this time of the year) this Christmas and that's really something different from past years.

Sales are great but so is not having a bunch of crap so it looks like you won on both!

I didn't go shopping on the 26th.
I didn't go on Black Friday either.

Guess I'm just not in with the in crowd.
