Eek...I'm Out of Control

Honest...I don't know how it happened. I innocently went to work yesterday and, finishing early, I decided just to take a run over to one of our higher-end department stores since they were having their "Half-Yearly Sale for Women and Kids."

I apparently parked in the wrong area because, when I walked into the store, there I was in the Women's Shoe department. Oops...not a good place to find myself. I tried really hard to head for the escalator up to the clothing department but, while my head said "walk straight ahead," my body steered itself on over to the sale shoe racks. Oh no!!! Before I knew it, I had two "right" narrow shoes in my hand and was asking the salesgirl to find me the mates in the back room.

Wouldn't you know it...the shoes fit and were the perfect colors...yep...black and brown. Suddenly my hand was reaching into my wallet and taking out my credit card to hand to the cashier. And before I knew it, she was handing me back a shopping bag with two boxes of shoes inside.

So here I sit in my den now staring at seven (yep, 7) boxes filled with new shoes. If you're wondering or have forgotten how 2 boxes turned into 7, take a look here. What is wrong with me? Have I gone insane? OK...I've got to quit shopping until I make a final decision about which pairs to keep. I've got to be strong. Help!

My husband always says I'm related to Imelda :) I love shoes and purses, but find that I wear the same several pairs often. (I do like having lots to choose from though!)
I can't recall ever having 7 new at the same time..

Joan,

LOL I do hope that you can decide between the 7 pairs of shoes. I would choose the most comfortable. I wish you good luck.

Blessings for a great day.

I think it's a good thing you went to work yesterday if only to support your out of control shoe habit. I know it will be tough to pick out the ones you like and return the others. If you can't decide, heck, just keep 'em all cousin!! That's my older cousin wise advice to you.

If no one is forcing you to choose, enjoy them all.

I love it! You gave me a good chuckle today!!! I vote for keeping them all too! How often do you find that many pairs of shoes that fit good and are the right color??? You've inspired me to go to the mall tomorrow and look at shoes! :0)

Imelda, there you are! You have really narrow feet, while I have EEEE width feet. I have few pairs of shoes, although with the wheelchair, the uppers wear out first instead of the soles:>)

No worries...just start storing them in the trunk of your car. You deserve each and every pair!

Some people require flu shots this time of the year, it appears that you need a "shoe" shot! Hey, if you got them on sale and they make you happy and they fit I say keep 'em! I heard in a survey that the average woman owns 45 pairs of shoes so sounds to me like you're normal!

Sounds like a good number to me....actually eight is a round number and that is better yet!

Keep them all, Joan! If the shoe fits, wear it, I say. Don't feel guilty.
