The Incredible Shrinking World

Yesterday Mom and I went to the salon for haircuts. As is our tradition, we always go to the same restaurant for lunch. So we had our typical meal (turkey burgers with fries) and, as we were leaving, I heard a male voice call out "I know you; you were my librarian." I look around and waving at me is a gentleman at one of the tables. I couldn't believe it. Here was one of my long-time library patrons whom I haven't seen since I retired nearly four years ago. Surprise, surprise! We chatted a bit and then Mom and I left.

Why did this little meeting surprise me so? It's probably because the library where I worked is more than 30 miles from this particular restaurant and neither of us live nearby. We just both happen to be eating at this restaurant on the same day at the same time.

Moral of this story: Be very careful what you say in public; you never know who might be listening.

that's really a co-incidence. Actually, he probably would have recognized you if you were in kindergarten together. Your face hasn't changed at all since you were 5.

What a neat thing. I like when I go back to my old hometown and bump into my old highschool friends...course that hasn't happened in a long time since I haven't gone home (my Mom moved from the old hometown.)
But once we had gone to the mall and went to the pet store (cuz we always do) and I ran into an old boyfriend. It was a big suprise.

I guess that also means you should dress "with care" everytime you go out...you never know who you'll see.

You are sooooooo right, you never know who is listening or looking. Just recently one of our neighbors, without our permission I add, placed some bear bait on our property to photograph with one of those motion cameras. That in itself is not a problem, photography, but it also brings more bear into our area which we don't need. Anywho to make a long story short he was talking about it in the neighborhood grocery store and one of my friends that he doesn't know overheard him and called me to let me know!!! Needless to say he was redfaced when Hubby called him about it! lol!!!
