So that's why you were rummaging through mom's pictures the other day...glad you found this picture. Now everyone knows what we look like. I will be sure to show her your post.

I don't suppose I can get away with telling people I'm the little squirming baby in Mom's arms. Okay...I guess not. The truth is I'm the really cute well-behaved daughter standing next to Mom...I admit it! :~D

You were quite the cutie and your Mom looks very happy in this picture - squirming baby and all!

How adorable! What a nice photo from "that era."
Ralph and I are wondering if this is Bayside ....

Vintage photos are awesome. They tell so much more then words could ever do. They are wonderful tools to bring out on special occasions such as this one, Happy Mother's Day!

Love the photo! You were such a well behaved young lady. I've been catching up on your posts since I got home from vacation. Sorry you are still having hairdresser problems but give her a few more tries. If she is willing to 'tweak' she is a gem, most of them won't unless they charge you again. Suitcase woes! I can't believe they told you two completely different things! I'll be interested to hear the outcome!

What a beautiful picture! Your mom looks great, and she is sure obliging when dealing with such precocious youngsters...I'm tempted to have the best family B&W photos restored, these memories must be retained...

Linda: In going through my old photos, I realize how happy we were growing up in a great family.

Patches: And we're still a happy family.

Susie: Your description of our photos as "vintage" is so spot on. My ten year old nephew asked us a few weeks ago why all our childhood photos have no color. Yikes!

Empress bee: Thanks for the wishes...our day was great!

Toni: I always refer to myself as the "good daughter." :~)

Patti: Yes indeed, it is Bayside. The photo was taken in the back of our garden apartment complex near the garages.

Michele: Thanks for the wishes. Although my mom's short term memory is failing, she loves looking through our boxes of old photos...they help spark some of her memories of earlier times.

Midlife mom: Welcome back! I can't wait to read all about your vacation adventures.

Ralph: I too want to restore some of our precious family photos. I was thinking I might try to do that myself with one of the photo software products. What do you think?

What a nice memory to share.

Now that we know what you look like we get a better picture of what your old hair dresser did. Okay, maybe not so much...but in the picture you look like a blonde.

I hope you had a great day.

Joan said...

Renee: Yep...once upon a time ago, I was a natural blonde. Now I'm searching for my blonde soul with a little help from a tube of color and some well placed foils.

The best pictures are the best memories...I'd price both ways, and see. I like to think that I could work with such software (of course with Kid2 computer geek around, he could certainly help...:>)

God I feel old!! To everyone I say that Joan pretty much looks exactly like she did in the picture. Lynn has changed but if you see a picture of her at 10, she too looks like she did then.

Great call Patti. Alley Pond park was one of my favorite places.

I remember my aunt just this way even as I look at her now. She was beautiful then and she is still beautiful in my eyes.

Boy what a lucky cousin I am.

Only oldest: I thought you would enjoy a photo trip down memory lane. You keep saying I look exactly the same as I did when I was young. I just don't see it but I believe you.

Ralph: Can I borrow Kid 2??? Please!!!

Joan, I'm sure he would love to see California...
